To Sderot with Love - Summer Camp Activities for Over 8,000 Sderot-area Youth

From amusement parks to nature reserves, from kayaking to a 3-day tour of Jerusalem, all of Sderot's 8,200 youth are participating in a variety of camp tracks this summer, thanks to a special campaign, To Sderot with Love, run by the Jewish Agency and supported by its partners around the world. A Mother's Gratitude

With the support of the UJC's Israel Emergency Campaign, the Jewish Agency provided formal and informal educational enrichment activities for children in Sderot and the Gaza perimeter communities. Marcell Bar-On says that the A New Tomorrow initiative has been a godsend for her son Gabi. Read more

Jewish Agency Receives Award for Best Social Action Campaign

To raise the image of Ethiopian immigrants in Israel on the 30th anniversary of Ethiopian aliyah, the Jewish Agency ran a print and television advertising campaign that received an award for Best Social Action Campaign of 2006. The campaign also brought job offers for young Ethiopian professionals. Read more

A Spectacular Musical Reprieve for Youngsters from War Torn Regions

Musician and singer David Broza took the stage at Masada for two special sunrise concerts supported by the Jewish Agency and attended by youth from Sderot, the North and Gush Katif evacuees. Read more

Two years have passed since the disengagement plan was implemented, and still, despite much assistance from the government, nearly 9,000 Gush Katif settlers are struggling with a difficult reality as a result of the evacuation. Read more

Israel Welcomes 600 New Immigrants from France
Six hundred new immigrants arrived to Israel on July 25th, on two special flights from France. It was the single largest group of immigrants to arrive in Israel this year. Read More
